Two very beautiful lenses. Both are on my wish list, but they are really hard to get. While waiting I helped myself with a stunning sample of a Jupiter-3 R from 1957. 😉

Brian, please show us the images, they are not shown. 🙂

Pretty cool result. Have to play with this one in the next couple of days as well. Thanks Jack.

Or you buy a new Leica. 🙂
The dust removal tool enhancement is pretty cool.

That looks pretty nice. I like the color rendition. But I'm going to wait until Leica will release the S350. 😀

Hi Jack,
Thanks a lot. 🙂
Looks pretty impressive. Are these out of camera (except of the last one) and if not, what have you done to the files in terms of sharpening and lens corrections?
It looks to me that you already have at f/11 some diffraction, but the performance is still pretty nice.
Looking forward to more pictures with this lens when you are on the road in sunny Arizona.
And by the way I would love to have a short TS lens too. 🙂
Cheers,

Thanks for posting these Jack.
I would love to see some made with a tripod.

thanks for sharing these images. They look fantastic, and I personally like seeing the S being used for reportage/documentary.
I love the look of the 120 mm wide open and I think this approach gives the series a very distinctive look. Very interesting! I must say I find it very brave to use the lens like this, I would probably resort to f4.0 just to be on the safe side with focus …
Anyway, I think your choice for large aperture works really well. Was 1/4000 short enough, or did you have to use ND's?Thanks again, wonderful images of a very interesting place with beautiful people!
Thanks Peter. I think the S is really build for doing every job and that was my main reason to choose the S over any other MF camera. Take a look at the attached picture my wife took with a D-Lux. That was while shooting with the Monochrome and the S was more or less between my legs in the sand. Does it do any harm? Nope. 🙂
I was fine with 1/4000th. But we have been there very early and it was partly cloudy. So perfect conditions.

Very sad. Hope you had a second camera in your bag.
