Hi Cam,
I always like to see pictures from Hawaii. Such a beautiful place. Regarding your question David wrote the following: “Keep in mind we have no file quotas or maximum pixel dimension limits on attachments. As long as the JPG is under 20MB, you can attach as large a file as you like. The system will automatically create a 550px wide/tall thumbnail, which when clicked will open the full size, unresampled image in a new tab. We thought this would enable quick loading on pages while allowing for large image sharing.”
Show us some more. 🙂

Roger;803 wrote: Looking at my feeble attempts at landscapes I noticed that on exposures of 32S(which appears to be the maximum on “A” and ISO 160)…..I have some diagonal white lines in the sky . At first I thought these were stars but the only appear at 32S and always run at a 45 degree angle . At 100% you can see they are following the pixels . Is this normal ?
Doesn t show up anywhere else in my images only at 32S and with a dark blue sky.
Roger,
Try another picture you shot with a lower f/stop and a kind of clear sky. Push Clarity and Contrast to 100. Maybe play around with Saturation and check if you see those lines as well. Just to narrow down the problem.

I am using a Gitzo GT3541LS with a BH-55 PRO Ballhead. It fits in every suitcase, it is light enough to carry around attached to a backpack and it is so damn flexible in the field.
Before my S2 days I used it with a Canon 1DMKIV and an EF 800mm 5.6 which worked perfectly. So I never spent a thought that this combination does not work with the S2.

Hi Craig,
Welcome to the forum. Before giving an answer it would be very helpful to know if you are a professional, a hobbiest and where & what genre you are mainly shoting.

Looking forward to the whole report.

Camera is back home. Received it Wednesday, so it took around a week. They changed the display.

Hi Arun,
Nice shots. Is the one in your last post driving past Hana? Have you done the whole tour along Piilani Highway?

Camera is on the way to Solms. Even if it is always a pain when those kind a things happen, the support from the community, especially David and Josh and from Leica is extraordinary. They really take care.
Thanks.

You are correct, I was mistaken, you cannot re-install the same version of the firmware on the S2 from my experience. Another option might be to downgrade the firmware to the previous version, then upgrade again. I can email you the previous version if you cannot find it online.
Let's give it a try. Would be very kind of you. Thanks.

The S2 firmware update process takes 3-5 minutes, so if it is only lasting a few seconds, it is possible that the firmware file itself is corrupt. I might try re-downloading it from Leica's website, re-formatting the memory card, and give the process another try.

Hi Josh,
The first update took a few minutes but trying to reload the firmware only takes a few seconds.

I alerted Leica to your problem (which we've never seen before, BTW). I just heard back that reloading the firmware will resolve the issue and that the technicians in Germany are looking for the underlying cause.
Hi David,
Thanks for your quick reply and your effort. I already tried to reload the firmware but unfortunately that does not solve the problem. I can not tell if reloading the firmware properly works. The camera is showing a short “loading”, the red light is flashing a few times and then the camera shuts down again as it has done during the first update. This process is only taking a few second. But as said the problem is still the same.

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the effort and for sharing the presets. I used the presets on some shots made in a church and the results are very satisfying.

They listened to you. Should be done with new firmware.
