I love the photos Pete. I especially like the mix of colors in the last photo.

Can you please post a link to your Flicker account. I would like to take a look. Thanks.

Nevermind. I found the link in another thread.

Josh, your photos of the Palm Beach Cavallino are torture for me. I am glad you made up to the show, but I hate I missed it this year. It is a humbling experience for us mere mortals (financially challenged).

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this software. I have suffered the purple line and have many affected images that will benefit from your software.

The longest possible exposure is at ISO 160. As the ISO increases, the maximum exposure time decreases. I don't think there is a way to get more light into sensor than 125 seconds at ISO 160 or the equivalent combination if time and ISO rating. Also, the resulting images look pretty much the same as far as noise goes – regardless whether it is long exposure/low ISO OR short exposure/high ISO. I discovered this while trying to photograph fireflies in the dark.:)

I about spewed my drink when I read that. Good one David.

I like the drama of the B&W. I know we were there to capture fall colors, but in this case the B&W looks best to my eye.

This has to be the best “first post” I have ever seen in any forum. Your photos are exceptional. Each has their own feel and emotion and yet each are also technically excellent.

I am glad to see you finally made it to the Cavallino. It is an incredible event for those of us that appreciate exotic cars.

    Andy,

Those are some serious woes. I hate to hear about your misfortune. In my opinion, your note to Leica is very reasonable considering the extent of your problems. I wish you the best in getting the problems sorted out.

    Hi Eric,

I had the same problem with my sensor and I pretty much just wrote off those images. Now that I know you have a software tool to correct the image I would like to go back through my affected images to see if if I have any I want to get you to fix for me if you don't mind.

Your daughter is a cutie. She has such determination in her eyes in the first photo and pride shows in the last photo. Thank you for posting.

However, I would probably consider a 13″ Macbook Air (very small) for on the road image review and new loaded desktop with large display for image processing and editing. I see value in your thinking to get a fast laptop with 100% RGB display so you can process images while on the road and, frankly, I am not sure which way I would go given a $3,000 budget.

Well, I didn't listen to my own advice. I recently bought a loaded Lenovo W520 which has a 95% RGB high res screen with an X-Rite color calibrator built into the palm rest.

In all honesty, I tried to follow my own advice. I actually bought a MacBook Air, but then returned it when I couldn't come up with a suitable reasonably priced Mac OS i7 quad core desktop computer. The Mac Mini would have been acceptable except it isn't configurable in an i7 quad core with a dedicated graphics card. I looked hard at the iMac line, but ultimately decided it wasn't work the >$2k for me to get into the i7 quad core since I already have 2 – 24″ screens and a 27″ NEC wide gamut screen. In addition, I didn't want to wait for the new Ivy Bridge processor Macs to come out next year.

Finally, I didn't want to continue with the mixed OS approach (Mac OS laptop / Windows desktop) that I had been using the last several years. Those considerations lead me to a Windows OS laptop. I can add a 3.4 ghz quad core i7 desktop for under $800 later if I find the need for more processing power.

I hoping the transition to a Windows laptop goes well.

I would be interested in seeing photos from your skiing trip. Please post a few if you don't mind.
