I haven't seen this problem, but then again, I can't say for sure I have ever duplicated your sequence of events. I will try it just for the heck of it.

I too prefer the gap between the images of the triptych. I also prefer paper prints over canvas prints however there are some advantages with gallery wrap canvas and I have recently had some made for my own walls. I did a several shot pano of the NYC skyline last fall while at PhotoPlus, was very happy with the results, and decided to get it printed. The finished size of my NYC skyline photo is 23″ x 72″ so gallery wrap canvas was a natural choice due to the difficulty an cost of framing a large paper print pano.

I smile every time I see that photo due to the back story. This photo turned out great as a large triptych. Seeing a photo of your triptych on the wall is the only way to get an idea of the scale without seeing it in person.
Question, it appears the triptych consists of three gallery wrapped canvas prints. Did you cut the individual images from the pano with overlap so that there was enough image for the wrap and still have the finished front of each image match up?

Whoa! What a lens. Thank you for sharing the photos from and of this lens. I am drooling. Fortunately, it won't fit my S2 – my wallet is safe.

I know that heart sinking feeling of realizing there is a problem with your sensor. It's even worse when you are the one that caused it. It will be a long time (if ever) before I will wet clean my S2 sensor again. I am glad your experience turned out so well.

Great images Al. I especially like the space needle photo. I also agree with you that we need a long tele S lens.

I have had similar experiences with the S2 autofocus. I gave up and try to manual focus adjust which works ok, but not great, if the subject speed is slow and steady. Hopefully, someone else will post a better experience and/or solution.

Something different is an appropriate title. How well does it work?

Hi Peter,
I don't own the 120mm, but as I recall you can use a filter holder on the 120mm if you get the correct size adapter ring. There is an issue when the lens fully retracted and I bet there is a spacer or something available to get around that. Several photographers who attended David's Fall Foliage trip last year were using the Schneider filter holder (modified Lee holder) and 4″ Schneider filters on their 120mm lenses. I am sure someone with first hand experience will chime in and give you the details.

I had been using the Lightroom 4 beta and didn't notice any speed issues. In fact, it seemed very fast on my new laptop. Now that I have upgraded to the actual LR 4 release I am noticing slow downs even when zooming to 100% which was near instantaneous in the Beta version.

Your example is impressive in illustrating the benefit of this new feature. Thank you for showing us Jack.

Very impressive Al. The moon is beautiful with the trees and clouds around it.

Hey Al,
You did a good job of procrastinating on getting an iPad till now. However, now that the “new iPad” is out and you can see the benefit with the EyeFi card, resistance is futile.

Joe had a pretty slick setup on the New England Fall Foilage trip where he used an eye-fi card to transmitt jpgs from the S2 to his iPad. It worked great and it was much easier using the iPad to check framing for landscape photography. He explains his setup here:

I know you were ascking about thrasfering raw files, but thought this might be interesting to you as well.
