I love this pano David. It is amazing just how good the software is at creating panos now days. I really like the lenticular clouds on top of Mt Ranier. Also, I see some moire in a couple of the high-rise buildings at this resolution. Perhaps it is not there on the full size image.

The Leica price of $849 is more than the cost of adapters from other makers, but it isn't as much as I thought they would be when announced. I expect the Leica branded adapters will be better build quality than other available adapters so the small premium in price is quite reasonable.

Marc, I am with you on the 1.4x extender for the 180mm. I want one bad. However, I don't know the limits of the S2's autofocus limits so I don't know if/how well it will autofocus at approx. f5.6.

I was able to tap on the image (incomplete preview shown) and save to Photo App on my iPad and then I could see the whole image.

Very well done Pete. I doubt that a 24 mm could capture the whole scene considering the image y posted is a 4 image stitch from a 35 mm.

Kurt, I have Silver Efex 2.0 and find the choices and options within the choices daunting. I can't settle on a particular look because I keep trying out the other combinations. I just need to spend more time with it I guess.

David, your post made me rembember another nuisance I would like corrected in future firmware. Allow the camera to remember the last drive mode when switching the camera off and back on. Currently the drive mode reverts to “single” when powered off and then back on

Good suggestions David. I recall asking for a quick delete method back during my first demo of the S2 in the Fall of 2009. The true simultaneous write of DNG to both CF card and SD card is another feature which would be welcome.

I have one other suggestion which may seem trivial, but it's something I would find helpful.

These photos are great. How did you manage to get the generous depth of field? My experience has been too shallow depth of field even with the 70mm at closest focus distance.

I like it. The light and clouds are great.

I am surprised you stopped driving long enough to make a photograph.:D

Thank you for the tip David. I will remember that one. I'm sure it was a huge relief for you to have lost only a few photos instead of an entire 16gb card.

As I recall, the S2 has never performed parallel writes of the DNG to both CF card and SD card. I was shocked to discover that parallel write really meant it writes the DNG to the CF card and JPG to the SD card when you have the S2 set to DNG+JPG.
