Hi Chris,
Have you tried using the Leica FOTOS app? You can remotely control the camera and use it as a release.
It's worked alright with me for some night photography with the Q.

I've been shooting film with my Leica M6 for about 2 years now. I'm dealing with a little internal battle, part of me wants to get into the Digital M cameras.
