Kipper, you knew this would eventually be posted as a triptych, you just didn't know when.
    5 degrees.
One more snow photo and I can go to warmer places.

I started with the 35mm only. I got the 120mm from David Farkas when it became available. That's all I have and the camera is used for everything. I recommend asking David for a loaner/renter of a 120mm for you to answer the questions you are asking, but don't examine it unless you have the cash to buy it as you will love it.

I like it. Nice framing too. Good title.

Our second interesting storm of the year. The day before was in the 50s and then dropped 30 overnight while raining. With a wind, the snow sticks to the side of trees.

    35mm.

    Ed,
    Thanks,
It was literally cool, but your winter shots inspired me to get outside.
Glad you find the new S higher ISO useful.

In winter, you can always create other seasons by getting closer to your subject.

This process started with a 120mm shot of a Wisconsin lighthouse on Lake Michigan in winter.
Then I went back on another day just get closer to the lighthouse, to create an industrial abstract. A much colder day I might add.
Next I created nine seasons of the lighthouse. This work creating seasons can fortunately be done indoors on a warm computer.
This is a work in progress as I swap and modify panels around quite a bit. I already have ten other versions I am reviewing. The eventual end result may be for an installation 8 feet by 6 feet.

    A triple triptych Kipper?
Temperature was 8 degrees. The day is described here:

Yes, the S works in winter, but my nose and fingers are another issue.

The first one was with the 35mm
I went back and shot with the 120mm. I bet Kipper suspects that there will be a third shot in the series.

    Still figuring on the matte.

The easiest way to answer your question is to first ask you what lenses you shoot with most in your current system?

I have the 120mm and use it extensively. I have shot with the 180mm, but I rarely shot a 135mm in 35mm format, so I rarely would use the 180 even if I had it. Secondly, there is so much resolution to spare, I can crop down to the 180 POV rather safely.

Always happy to save someone from having a $5-7000 lens hit the floor, much less a lake.
I'm curious what drew your attention to this post? I tried to make it attention getting but perhaps I could do better?

So now tell us your 35mm story please

I suggest you add two more shots and show us a triptych.

    Mark,
Forgive me for my delayed viewing of your three shots, but leave the landscape work for a week and just shoot some portraits.

You and I have shot landscape work together, so I know how excellent your landscape work always is, but….

You have a knack for studio shots that you should not ignore.
Privately you can link me to the rest of the shots, but your first shot should be printed and enlarged to 3 time life size. You have excellent talent in this arena. Don't let it go to unrealized.

Easy to trade in your M9 with Dale if you are in the USA.
I see Amazon is saying they have M in stock, but I would always prefer to deal with a very reliable person, Josh or David at Dale Photo.
