I just received confirmation from Leica today that there is a bug in the firmware update that may have caused the issue. They have indicated a fix over the next week.
Fingers crossed!

I'm now having the same problem. My 120 CS was working fine before the firmware update and now the autofocus doesn't work and it makes a whining noise for about 10 sec.
UGH!!!
Now I have to deal with a 6-8 week rotation to get this fixed.

Hi Marc,
I have the Elpro and it performs fantastic. No noticeable loss of image quality!

Thanks so much Jack. Your explanation was great and I'll certainly give it a try.

Jack,
Thanks for the reply and the confirmation effort.
I would agree with you that my typical use of this lens would be between f5.6 and f11 so it's not much of a practical issue for me (f8-f11 are amazingly sharp edge-to-edge).
For a 19mm equivalent lens, it's quite an accomplishment on Leica's part.
Thanks again,
Derek

Hi Jack,
I like this image!
What are you noticing about the 24 compared to the other S lenses? I'm seeing fairly soft corners at 3.5 compared to 5.6 with my 24mm lens.
My comparison is my 30mm which is amazingly sharp wide open at 2.8.
Thanks in advance for the input.

I have been told by Leica that the 24 will be shipping in March.

Josh,
I have only heard of the 70CS shipping. Are they shipping any other CS lenses?
Thanks,

Thanks Josh. Your reply confirms what I was thinking.
For those of us who already have the adapter, the Leica branded option probably doesn't make much sense. I'm a Leicaphile in every way but I can't hand them an extra $2+k just for the brand and the “option” to purchase an additional warranty.
Interesting lens though 🙂

Does anyone know if there is any meaningful difference between the Phase One version of this lens (using the Mamiya adapter) and the Leica version?
My dealer called today to offer me one of the first TS-APO lenses but I'm not clear on why I would spend $2k more for the Leica version.

Thanks Joe. I shot with the S all day today and I agree that the exposure is more accurate. Not sure if this is truly a functional enhancement or wishful thinking 🙂
Either way, it's a fantastic body and the new features just make it more of a pleasure to use.
Enjoy!

Hi Joe,
Do you find any difference in the EV from the S2 to the new S? I found that my S2 tended to underexpose by -1/3 or so, and my new S camera has been more accurate on exposure.
Are you finding that you need to push all shots by +0.5 EV on your S?
Thanks,
DerekJoe Colson;4040 wrote: Having used an M9, while the S is not as compact and unobtrusive, the image quality at ISO 1600 is comparable, if not better. This was taken today using + 0.5 EV as Josh recommended. Handheld, auto WB, straight from the camera (no sharpending or noise reduction).

I can confirm that these are now shipping in the US. I received mine yesterday.
I slight movement of the switch to select CS or FPS is what the Leica S is all about and it does it well.
Can't wait for the rest but not sure of the delivery order that Leica has in mind.

Will Do!
Thanks for the update.

Can't wait to get my hands on this lens as well! It will really improve the workflow of on-location shoots.
David/Josh…As these are now in the market, any word on when US customers can expect the 35-90?
