With this historic/tourist transport image, I was hoping to get a little more room in front of the horse, but fate didn't allow enough time. This is one of the smaller buggies, which carry 4 or 5 people. My only ride was on a wagon pulled by 2 mules, which seated 16 people.

This scene I've shot before, but my first attempt here with the T/18-56. Not sure why so much noise, but I assume shooting JPEG at 8 seconds, even at ISO 100 – that's what I get. There doesn't seem to be a “Long Exposure Noise Reduction” feature like the Monochrom has, so I wonder if a firmware update could add that feature.

While it's unlikely anyone would mistake this for commercial photography, this image is just my quick snapshot of a LV poster outside of the local store. That said, the reflections on the glass that the poster is enclosed in were so bad that I had to shoot this at an approx. 45 degree angle, then redo the perspective in PP. Leica Ultravid 10×42 BR (not the Ultravid HD). Like new except for exterior stains and two small ‘dings' on the center wheel and brace. I have a close-up inspection video on youtube (dalethorn2). $975 USD including shipping. I have the Leica ‘passport' card for this item. Purchased at Samy's Fairfax in Nov. 2005, but used only a few days.

These images were taken within 5 minutes of each other, and neither composition has been altered. The red clouds around the bridge tower in #1 look somewhat like a blowtorch – one of those random cloud patterns that occur often at this location (Ravenel Bridge, SC).
