I would like to add my request for user choice over SD or CF as the first used storage medium. Note that I am not asking for parallel processing, simply a user choice. The reason is simple .. one less piece of equipment to take with me when travelling with my MacBook Air which has a built in SD card slot.
Not really much else I want at the…[Read more]

I use Helicon a lot. I have never used 28 images to stack. I usually max at 8.
I presume you were on a tripod and rail. If not you have no real chance. S2 files give the programme a headache at the best of times.
My favoured approach at the moment is not to change the focal plane directly but to move the camera on the…[Read more]

constable replied to the topic S2 endangering other cameras you own? in the forum S2 13 years, 1 month ago
Not endangering other camera … they don't get taken out to play in the nasty wet wild world so often, but rather get to stay at home in their nice warm cupboard.
Endangering the pocket though. I am using the S2 so much in the wild that I have just decided to upgrade to the S2-P for maximum protection in the field. I am collecting it later…[Read more]

I only read it because I had the same question when I started using the SF 58;-)
Manuals should only be read when they are prepared by people who have actually used the item in question. A very rare phenomenon IMHO.

I am wondering when using the MZoom Function on the SF58, if the Numbers …50…75…90… belong to the focal length of the S2 or what I think to the 35mm format?
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks,

David, Josh
Is there a list of serial numbers that qualify for the replacement?
Mine is a 2010 model with serial number 3800XXX that is now almost impossible to read in daylight (not sunlight, rather daylight!)
Cheers

Well I must admit I can't repeat the phenomenon.

Arun
I saw this same thing last weekend
It is something really stupid about switching on the camera or the SF58 first … can't remember which but it is in one of the manuals (in a none obvious place)
Good luck and will check when I get home this evening
