In a recent conversation, an S2 user mentioned how they didn’t want to use their S2 on water, even though the camera is water resistant. This camera is tough. The water beading coating on the lens is a big plus.

I encourage all users to get over their fear, as the camera is amazingly rugged on the water. This was shot from a jet ski following a sailing race. My only fear in using the camera so close to the water was realizing that if while following the boats at 20 mph, the neck strap flew over my neck and I lost my grip at the same time, the camera would not float.

I also had admitted to the other user that I didn’t have a shot good enough to post, but then I realized I could modify a single shot into this triptych and hit sepia in LR for a nice artsy sailing shot.

Didn t David tell us that the S2 was good down to 10M ? After that you are on your own.

Nice photographs . You probably know this but sailboat photographs especially of woodies are highly sought by interior decorators .

    Sorry…. can’t make any guarantees on submersion… 😉

This shot really works as a triptych! Nice stuff, Jack.

The S2 is perfectly suited for sailing and water borne photography.

I have used it without any problems in the Antarctic: I accidentally dropped the camera while on a mountain on the Antarctic peninsula and it landed in a snow bank without any ill effects..

In fact, this weekend, we leave for the ARCTIC and more photoraphic adventures!
