After all, there are diseases against which people need to prove they’ve been vaccinated already. Go to a great swathe of the tropics, for example, and then try to fly to Australia (or many other places) and you’ll need to prove that you’ve been vaccinated against yellow fever. That’s just the first one which comes to mind, too.
As I understand it, the WHO has placed covid-19 on the same “schedule” as yellow fever, which basically says “people should expect to be asked about their immunisation in this regard”. That shouldn’t surprise anyone, since this is a virus which – with a couple of exceptions – has pretty much got everywhere by now, and which nobody really wants to catch.
