Leonard KnightPete encouraged me to post this shot. It was taken in desert light, but the open wagon provided perfect shade for Leonard’s face. I left things a bit overexposed to properly convey the incredible brightness of the desert light.
Other shots from the series are here:
http://www.macdonough.net/Religion/Salvation-Mountain/16338913_83pW6M#!i=1228507874&k=8C5sxI wandered around this location first with my 35mm, and then changed lenses to my 120mm and wandered all over the location a second time. I have found that sticking to one lens at a time is better than switching lenses back and forth.

I have been there a few times and on my last visit Leonard was heading to the hospital – he looked very ill. I’m glad to see he is doing well! It’s an amazing place to photograph as well as the rest of the Salton Sea. Nice job!

Nice job, Jack! I really like the way that the S2 renders desert light.
