Leica M, Leica S, Leica CompactOfflineA few more images, this time from Day Three:
Leica S2 with 180mm, 1/90 sec at f/8
Leica S2 with 70mm, 3 sec at f/9.5 with Kenko Variable NDX filter
Leica S2 with Schneider Apo-Digital 120mm f/5.6 Tilt Shift lens, 1/180 sec at f/5.6. I wanted to play with this lens’ tilt and shift. This was shot wide open with the plane of focus down the first 1/3 of the image or so. This is a very unique lens that we just added to our inventory, so expect more shots soon, along with comparisons to other 120mm lenses available for the S2 currently. - October 21, 2011 at 11:46 pm #1238
Can only get one of my two favorite shots from Day Three to upload…but there were other nice shots too. I’ll try to get the second one up later.

Leica M, Leica S, Leica CLOfflineKipper,
So far your shot of the dead trees is one of my favorite images from that location.
Both David and I posted wide-angle shots of the location, and Joe privately showed me some excellent work. The dead trees was the best subject for all three of you. However I did go back and of course try and convert one of my huge merges into a triptych. I prefer it as a triptych, but I usually do.

The light on the dead trees at that moment in time was very special and it didn’t last long. I think Joe might have missed the light by a minute or two…but he’s a talented photographer and I’d be curious to see what he got from that vantage point.
Your triptychs have captured my imagination and I am thinking about making some myself…initially for some model shots I’ve taken. I came across a Julienne Kost tutorial on the subject and a few others but wondered if you’d care to share your technique. I do like the one you’ve just posted.

Leica M, Leica S, Leica CompactOfflineYes, the Schneider APO 120mm T/S Macro can be used on a Leica S2 using a Mamiya 645 Adapter. I apologize that the Schneider 120mm is not yet on our website, but we can certainly get the lens for you if you like as we are Schneider dealers.

Leica M, Leica S, Leica CLOfflineStumbled across a way of doing triptychs in three dimensions. An S2 is not required as the file size is very small. I tested this on these old photos as the guys on that trip will recognize the shots. Flash is required for this to work, so forget the iPhone or iPad.

That is pretty cool. I had a little difficulty getting the cube to rotate exactly how I wanted, but it’s probably just me. Do you mind sharing how this was done?
