I can’t challenge the safari from Pete Walentin, but I am continuing my long hoped for transition to using the Leica S for my field macro work.
Lighting has finally been mastered using a Metz Mecablitz 15 MS-1 Macro Ringlight and although I love the Leica 120 S lens, this only gets me to 2:1 and am mainly using the Hasselblad 120 CS. All shot with manual focus and manual control over depth of field and exposure time. Most of these are at f22 or worse … beyond the diffraction limit but giving more than a few microns depth of field. This is going to be a long journey but the results put anything from my Cananon or Nikon kit to shame. I will try to post some side-by-side comparisons with the Zeiss 100 on a Sony a7r and metabones adaptor later … the difference is much greater than simple paper analysis would indicate (as we all know).
Many thanks for looking and sorry for the big files
