Has anyone got an AirBnB rental near them that creates a nuisance?

Aside from my utter disdain for what they’ve done to the housing market we’ve got one down the street from us that is an absolute pain in the behind.

It’s a very quiet street with already difficult parking, and the house a few doors down is let out to groups of up to 6 sometimes. It’s a two bed but it must have beds in every room given the number of people who stay.

It’s owned by a company who have like 30 other AirBnB properties locally.

When 4 different people turn up to stay, they take up huge amounts of residents parking. Then the noise, they get drunk, and sit in the garden all night making a racket. Occasionally they’ll then leave at the crack of dawn and make a racket packing up their cars shouting up and down the street to each other.

Clearly common courtesy has gone out the window here, presumably because it’s not their street so who cares.

I just don’t understand, if I’m staying somewhere, I’ll be respectful to local residents, regardless where in the world it might be.

We’ve complained to AirBnB multiple times who ‘look into it’ but nothing is done.

Anyone else had similar and found a way to get results? I’m fine with people staying, as long as they respect that it’s a quiet, residential street!

It’s a problem worldwide with AirBnbs. When there’s no staff like in hotels people feel like they can act as they like. Good thing public opinion of AirBnB is beginning to decline.

It’s unfortunate when guests don’t respect the local community and create disruptions.
It’s good that you’ve reached out to Airbnb to address the issue, but it can be frustrating when it feels like nothing is being done. Sometimes, persistent complaints and documentation of disturbances can help in getting better results.
On a different note, if you’re planning to travel and want a more comfortable and enjoyable journey, you might want to explore options like discount business class flights. They can offer a higher level of comfort and service during your flights.

You could write a formal letter detailing the issues and requesting that they take steps to address the problems, such as limiting the number of guests, enforcing quiet hours, or ensuring that guests respect the neighborhood.

I’ve had similar issues with AirBnB properties before, and unfortunately, it often seems like complaints don’t lead to quick resolutions.

One thing that helped in my case was reaching out directly to the property owner or manager if possible.

Sometimes they can be more responsive than AirBnB’s support. Alternatively, for a more peaceful stay, you might want to consider other accommodation options like those at https://www.westgateresorts.com/hotels/missouri/branson/, which might offer a quieter experience.

I’m planning a trip to Jeju Island and have been considering different accommodation options. Airbnb has caught my attention because of its flexibility, but I’m not sure if it’s the best option for a trip like this. Does anyone have experience staying in Airbnb properties while visiting Jeju? What are the pros and cons compared to hotels?
