Apple delivered a fix to their Photos App in the latest OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 Update. This addresses the problem of the Photos App or Aperture crashing when trying to import Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) DNG files. From Apple's own release notes:
Addresses an issue that could cause Photos to unexpectedly quit after importing some Lecia DNG files
This is great news for those M Monochrom 246 users looking to use Aperture or Photos App.
