Leica M9 Firmware Update Version 1.162

Today, Leica Camera introduced firmware version 1.162 for the Leica M9. This new firmware includes the following updates and enhancements:

1. Camera Performance

• Improvement of the sensor homogeneity for wide-angle lenses.

[INDENT][INDENT][INDENT]There is an additional color calibration for all wide-angle lenses, that minimizes chromatic deviations between image center and image corner, especially in critical shooting situations.

• Optimization of internal processes:

• Improvements in Italian translations

We will be testing this firmware update over the next few days to evaluate the image quality improvements with various lenses, and to assess any operational improvements that Firmware Version 1.162 implements.
