Today, Leica has made their latest version of Image Shuttle software, version 3.3, available for download. The new version supports the following cameras:
- Leica S (Typ 007)
- Leica S (Typ 006)
- Leica S-E (Typ 006)
- Leica M (Typ 240)
- Leica M-P (Typ 240)
- Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246)
A few things to note: The M camera models require the Multifunction Handgrip-M in order to provide a USB port. The S cameras will require their included proprietary locking LEMO USB tethering cables. The tethering cable for the S (Typ 007) is not compatible with the one for the S/S-E (Typ 006) and vice versa.
Currently, Image Shuttle is still only available for Mac OSX (10.10 and 10.11), but a Windows version is in the works.
And while I would have liked to see SL (Typ 601) support in this version, it will be added in the near future as well.
To download, head over to the Leica Owner's Area at https://owners.leica-camera.com.
If you want to see how you can use Image Shuttle to tether into Capture One Pro, be sure to check out my tutorial here:
How to Set Up Tethered Shooting Between the Leica S (Typ 007) and Capture One Pro
Thanks for the information. I have tethered my M240 with Lightroom and it is a useful feature. That Leica has made an effort to support this is great. However, that Leica chose not to support Windows, a much more widely used platform, in the beginning is a serious failure. Let’s hope we will not have to wait months for this to be available.
I use both Windows and Mac OS. I’d definitely appreciate a Windows version soon, but my understanding is that the ball is in Adobe’s court, not that Leica is trying to snub Windows users.
