I’m organizing a group trip around Germany with some friends and trying to decide whether we should book a bus that comes with a driver or rent one and handle the driving ourselves. Part of me likes the freedom of doing our own driving, but dealing with a large vehicle sounds stressful—especially since none of us has driven anything bigger than a regular car before. I’m wondering if it’s worth paying extra to have a driver, or if it’s still doable (and safe) to drive it ourselves. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

I’ve done both, and I’d say hiring a driver is 100% worth it, especially if you’re in an unfamiliar area. Last summer, we rented a bus with a driver for a family reunion trip in Germany, and it made everything so much easier. The driver knew the roads, handled parking, and we didn’t have to stress about navigation or traffic rules. We used Hamburg tour bus, and they were super professional. The driver even suggested a couple of scenic stops that weren’t on our original plan. I think if your goal is to relax and enjoy the trip, having a driver is a smart choice.
