I like it. Nice framing too. Good title.

One of my favorite lenses of all time…and it plays nicely with the S2. Problem is that the darn Leica lenses are just so good I don’t find myself using it much.

    +1 to what Jack said…

Jack & David, Thanks for your comments. Appreciated.

I only bought the S 35mm with the S2 to put a toe in the water and to test if my 4 Hasselblad lenses could be used effectively for more ‘static’ landscape and square portrait shots. It reduces the initial investment and saves me from adding another lens set to my kit cupboard, but more importantly it enables me to shoot my 203Fe until I decide to abandon film, if ever.

I shot and show this image because the S2 can clearly handle the big landscape, but I’d like it to be my walk around camera as well for street and small details like the above. In addition, I don’t always want the clarity provided by super MF digital and Silver Efex here helps.

How does the S120mm fare in isolating the subject at close quarters, especially in a square, or 4×5/6×7 ratio format, and what is the bokeh like in those circumstances ?

If I was confident in producing with the S2 exactly what I display here, http://www.flickr.com/photos/rolophoto/sets/72157631449540908/ I’d be ready to become a digital-only shooter. That would suit me. 😀

BTW, I need the flexibility because I traded my M9, M9-P and two Summilux lenses to acquire the S2 and S 35mm.

    I’ve been well hooked !!

I started with the 35mm only. I got the 120mm from David Farkas when it became available. That’s all I have and the camera is used for everything. I recommend asking David for a loaner/renter of a 120mm for you to answer the questions you are asking, but don’t examine it unless you have the cash to buy it as you will love it.
